The Essence of Being Me is to be Aware of my Ripple

While I was on my walk today, I asked for some inspiration and guidance on my next blog post. While walking past this pond, the wind picked up and started creating these ripples in the water. Immediately the word "ripple" was highlighted crystal clear in my mind and I knew what I would be writing about. This process is actually quite amazing: the image is first, then a word pops up and what follows is just a click, click, click - everything falling into place and me knowing that this is what people need to hear right now. So let's talk about our ripple.

These past few weeks I have had quite a few conversations about what it is that we are contributing to this world. So, I know that I am not the only one who is sometimes wondering about what my impact is, and more importantly quite often underestimating my importance in this world. So, it seems appropriate that I write this piece: for me, for you, for all of us.

So very often we are convinced that we only have an impact on the world with big actions and widely applauded success. We are convinced that unless we do something that is noted by many people, we are not really contributing to anything. Well, nothing could be further from the truth. The reason we think that way is because we grow up believing that we are all separate beings. And even those of us who have remembered their connection to all and everything sometimes tend to fall into our old beliefs. And that is why this ripple came to me today. To remind myself and all of you, that we all have a tremendous impact on the world we live in. Every action, every word we speak sends a ripple out into the universe and as such to everyone around us.

What we do matters. It matters a lot. And we get to choose whether the ripple we are sending out is one of love, one of respect, one that will lift people up. Or whether we are sending out a ripple of anger, of fear, of downward energy. The choice is ours and this choice determines the impact we have on the world. Okay, you may say, but I really don't see that many people in a day, I am really not an important person, so I don't think it matters what I send out in the world. Yes, it does. Your ripple affects and influences the energy and ripple of everyone and everything you come in contact with. They in turn send out a ripple that was impacted by your ripple and so on. There is not stopping the ripple once it has started and it impacts our whole world.

Another effect of the ripple we are sending out is that the Universe will bounce back to us what we are sending out. When you send out a ripple of love and abundance, you will receive... you get it. Your ripple has a direct influence on your experience of life. Also, when ripples become stronger, they will eventually create a big wave. So, imagine if more and more of us are sending out ripples that are uplifting, creative, and loving, imagine the wave it will create for the world. My ripple matters, your ripple matters. And when our ripples meet in harmony they create magic.

So, let us never again forget that no matter where we live, no matter what our job is, no matter what we look like, no matter what our gender or belief is: we all create ripples that have a tremendous impact on the world we live in. Be aware of your ripple every single moment of every single day and make it one that is rooted in love. I was reminded today of the importance of my ripple and I hope that this piece will be the ripple that finds you, connects and inspires you.
